I used to have the 5th gen 60gb ipod and it was alright but ran out of room. With 17 thousand songs I needed an upgrade. Plus I'm always getting new podcasts and such so it helps! With 17 thousand songs I still have more than half the memory. Hopefully I won't need an upgrade anytime soon
