iPod Touch - Wifi problem

alright guys, i just got my iPod touch (8gb) 2 days ago and I'm now experiencing problems with the wi-fi near my house. I have a perfect connection and i have everything right, but when i open safari it says "Safari can't open the page because it could not find the server." it says this twice the first one goes away but the second stays awaiting the ok button. I have tried everything pressing www on the URL, rebooting my router etc. And the WiFi even works on my brothers iPod on the same frequency.

what do i do?

What is the brand of router? Have you tried resetting it? What kind of security does it use?
