I experience that when I connect my iPod shuffle to the USB port , the cursor shortly after that freezes up and the machine practically hangs. If I remove the ipod, the cursor then becomes free and I can continue using the machine. From the log I read the following message:

[0x1a8ba00] The IOUSBFamily is having trouble enumerating a USB device that has been plugged in. It will keep retrying. (Port 2 of hub @ location: 0x18200000)

I have a backup disc, a MIDI-USB converter, a printer and a scanner connected to the USB ports at the same time. Disconnecting any of the devices does not seem to help.

Anyone with an idea of what causes this?

Maybe it was plugged into a Windows PC and it's still frightened...

But in all seriousness, you could try restoring it.
