Hi

I am very new to Mac, in fact this Macbook is my very first mac I ever touched.

I have an iPhone and I want to convert videos to it. For DVDs, I can use Handbrake and it works like a charm. For some Video formats including WMVs, I can use my Quicktime PRO, it has an export function to iPhone format. However I have some videos in AVI that none of these take care of, and even playing I can only through VLC media player.

How can I convert everything? Is there a Free (preferably) program that converts it all?

The AVI I have trouble with was an FLV film from Youtube.

Thanks

Ben

Well first of all get the perian codecs (perian.org). After doing that, your avi will open up in quicktime from where you can export to iphone. Alternatively, if you are used to converting a lot of stuff, then I'd suggest you get yourself Visualhub. That's really good for converting videos and such.

If you download the perian codecs, you can just open it (the .flv file) in quicktime and then export to iphone. You just have to make sure that it has .flv at the end.
