iPhone SMS Text appears as Email

I am trying to resolve this for a friend. Most of the time when he sends someone text (SMS) messages on his phone, the recipient sees his email address as opposed to his number. How can he set it to the latter?

It sounds like he has Messages turned on and it's using his Apple ID. Go into Settings>Messages>Send & Receive. Scroll down to "Start new conversations from" and only check the phone number.

Good tip. I just checked my settings to make sure I had it set the same way.
