U.S iPhone working in Australia

Hi guys, i have just bought an iPhone 5s unlocked in the U.S. i am going on a lengthy trip to Australia for work and want to know whether because its unlocked i can use it on Australian networks. Has anyone done this before?

One of our Aussie members can probably answer this best, however, I don't see why it wouldn't work. You would likely need to buy a sim card for it from an Australian carrier when you arrive there.
