How to get apps out of folders?

I inadvertently combined 2 apps into a folder. How do I get them out?

Just drag them out.

Press and hold the APP icon until it starts to wriggle, then drag it out.

I've always wanted to be smart, handsome and modest. But, I guess I'll have to be satisfied with two out of three . . .
