I have an iPhone that was recently damaged with water. I took it to the Apple Store and they said my warranty was up and I need to purchase a new one. to buy a new one it would be $600 and that's ridiculous! Is there any way to get a new one or get another texting phone without having to get a new plan?? So basically what's the cheapest option that I will still get texting?

Why's that ridiculous? Apple didn't damage your iPhone… you did. Like it or not, the REAL cost of the iPhone is $600+. You pay much less than that when you sign a new contract with your cell provider because you are basically paying the difference back over 2 years via the inflated rates they charge.
You didn't say how long you have on your contract with your cell provider. You can either pay the Early Termination Fee, then sign a new contract and pay the subsidized price for a new phone; buy a used one off eBay or Craigslist; or buy a new one from any number of places that specialize in selling 3rd party phones. Be sure you get one that is compatible with your cell provider. Standing request for all troubleshooting: Please provide your Mac model/year and OS version. Also advise us if you have used or installed any antivirus, security, or "cleaning" software on your Mac. If you have installed MacKeeper in particular, you are hereby advised to uninstall it. --------- If all else fails to fix your problem, read this tip. |
