I have an iPhone 4 it still has to original OS that came with it, however I do intend to upgrade to the OS 5 as soon as I can get the time!
My question here is to seen if I have a problem with my phone or something else may not be set right. When I make a call to someone the normal screen will come up with the fonts on it and the end call bar at the bottom in red of course. However if I end the call before they answer or leave a voicemail after I press end call bar the screen seems to freeze up for a few seconds, everything seems just to go to a white outline on the normal dark screen. Then after a few seconds it will go back to normal screen, if it been from favorites or some other screen I placed the call from.
So do I have a problem or is it something in settings or what? It's kind of driving me nuts. Just a bit ago I called a friend from my contacts app and his line was busy so I got the normal busy signal and I wanted to end the call but the screen was just black and of course the busy signal continued until the screen came back to where I could hang up. All other functions on the phone work flawlessly. Anyone else experienced this or is it just me. Thanks in advance.

iPhones have a sensor that can detect proximity - i.e. when you hold it up to your ear to talk on the phone. During this period the phone's screen goes black so that no buttons are accidently pressed by your cheek/jaw/etc. Your problem happened to my phone a couple of times (it doesn't any more, it just stopped. Not sure why...) and I simply press the home button when I take it off my ear to wake the screen manually and then press the end call button.
