I have a strange problem. I want to transfer my Iphone pictures and movies to my MacBook. I have no problem syncing the two via Itunes, I can also share my 3G connection from my Iphone to my MacBook and I can get power to my Iphone from my MacBook. With that said it is proven that the two actually speak and are able to connect (there are no problem with the cord

BUT: The Iphone is not reachable via any other application; not via Finder, Image Caprure, Iphoto or Phone to Mac. They all show- “No camera or device connected”. I have tried before syncing after syncing with Itunes of and on, plugging in and out back and forwardat morning at night in the day, standing on my head, and so on
I assume there are some settings in either my Iphone or my MacBook that is set wrong. Can anyone help me figure that out?

//Pelle

PS I have Mac OS 10.6.8 on the MacBook and a Iphone 3GS, with 5.1 (I think that is the OS version)

If you don't have any new photos on the iPhone, Image Capture and iPhoto won't see the device (they are looking at the photo storage, not the phone per se). I don't know about Phone to Mac, but the point is that if you want to transfer pictures and movies from your iPhone to your MacBook, you need to sync the phone -- using iTunes. IOW, that is the correct channel for synching.

EDIT: another thought just occurred to me: might you be using some other (third-party) app for capturing photos and movies on your iPhone? Like (for example) Camera+ or Silent Movie Director? If so, you have to move those files to the Camera Roll before iTunes (iPhoto, et al) will see them.

But i don not really understand (it might be my english, i am not native)

I what sence do you mean new pictures? I have never transefered any photos fron my Iphone anywhere, so all 1039 pctures on the phone are "new" to my Mac Book. I have though synced the phone in Itunes. But i cannot find a way to reach the photos that way. Where do you mean that the pictures ends up in Itunes?

However I did try to connect my Iphone to my MacMini, and then Iphoto opend automaticallt and there were no problems at all transering the pictures to that computer. I did not sync my Iphone with the MacMini!

So I am starting to think that it might be something wrong with my MacBook... Or some setting that is wrong.

But in one way problem is solved. By going the long way via the Mac Mini I can get the pictures to my MacBook aswell, but I would prefere if it worked directly

PS I don not use any other app than the standard camera in the Iphone
QUOTE Thanks
