I have jailbroken the iPhone before on ios 4 but on iOS 5.0.1 I cant. I have done my iPod touch and iPad 2 on iOS 5.0.1 but any program I try on Mac or pc tell me that it is not compatable or in redsnow it exploits and then says waiting for reboot and the phone boots normally without jail breaking the iPhone. I have tried restoring the phone as well and that didn't work either. What can I do?

Mine worked fine using redsn0w. Did you grab redsn0w from here?

I had to load the official 5.0.1 through itunes - then run redsn0w - go through dfu - then it updated and jailbroke. I know there were a few releases of redsn0w so make sure you grab the latest one.

Backup everything.
