I asked Siri for a certain restaurant near me in Canada & it tells me it can't give directions in Canada. I really hope this is just a setting I have to change? Anyone else having similar problems in Canada ?

No, it's not a setting you have to change. Siri can't be expected to know everything in the world yet. Just wait, it will come in due course.
