iPhone 3gs unresponsive screen (please help)

Hey I have an iPhone 3gs and my touch screen just went out and i can turn it on and everything else is fine. Can someone tell me what to do do I need to find someone to replace the digitizer or can someone give me some tips and tricks on how to fix it. Thanks please respond quickly! and sorry i'm new (: basically when i touch the screen it doesnt do anything like i cant power off i can only hold home button and power button to turn off.

You're right it sounds like the digitizer.

Looks like the glass/digitizer repair will be fairly inexpensive.
