How accurate is the iPhone compass? It varies by about 20 - 30 degrees from my ABC watch compass. Trying to figure out which is more reliable.

A digital compass is never going to be as accurate as a real compass. I would compare them to a real compass and I would also calibrate your iphone compass and your watch compass (if possible).

By calibrate compass on iPhone, you means th figure 8 move, or some other calibration?

Thanks for reply

Based on good advice from both Suunto and Apple sites, the
compasses on my ABC watch and iPhone 4 are spot on, allowing for minor jitter
and human misalignment during the test. The keys are to calibrate each compass
and then compare on the same bearing but separate the two so they do not
interfere with each other.
