Linking iPhone to a TV - HDMI?

I fancy trying linking my iPhone to my TV to watch rented movies. I thought that this was done via the TV's HDMI socket, but Apple doesn't appear to sell a suitable lead. Can anyone advise, please? iphone-iphone.net |

According to Apple Digital AV Adapter - Apple Store (U.S.) it is also compatible with iPad, iPhone 4, and iPod Touch Generation 4. Coming soon (likely within the next week) and $39 USD. 16GB iPhone 5, 64GB Wi-Fi only iPad 1st Gen. Reminder: Please include your Mac's specs. This will make it much easier for the other members to assist you.
