I bought an iPhone 4 from a chick today that included a sealed AppleCare Protection Plan box. I checked the serial number on the phone and it already has AppleCare on it. Is there a way Apple/AT&T put this sealed AppleCare warranty on the phone already without it being opened or did I score an extra Warranty? My friend said AT&T does it for you at the store without even opening the AC box but I wanted to see if anyone can confirm this. Please LMK, thanks!

Apple Care is activated as soon as you buy it - when you buy it from an Apple store or from the Apple on line store. AT&T and Best Buy do likewise when you buy directly from them. You also probably should find out when it expires...

The Applecare protection plan is associated with the Bar Code on the box, all they do is scan the sealed box and link it to the product. So no it isn't an extra one unfortunately.
