printing from iphone 4

ok so i have an iphone 4 , have a wireless network, have a wi fi printer,

when i try print something from iphone the printer is not showing up when it says "searching for printers",

i have the printer on the network and its printing fine from macbook wirelessly
also i have home sharing enabled through itunes if that makes any difference

anyone any ideas were i am going wrong??

Please use the Search function of the forums. This has been covered.
To use a printer with AirPrint in iOS 4.2.x it must be one of HP's branded printers listed on their website that are compatible. More printers and brands are likely to be compatible in the future.

i had some good timing and was in the market for a printer about a month before the airprint update..

went to HP website and found these

mine was about 200 bucks. connects every time

It has also been covered that there are work arounds to make non-AirPrint compatible printers work.
Printopia is one such solution. There are others.

I've always wanted to be smart, handsome and modest. But, I guess I'll have to be satisfied with two out of three . . .

Also, depending what you're trying to print and the hardware you have available, Google Cloud Print may work for you.
