iphone 3gs wont sync to iTunes 10.1 - can't solve the problem.

hey ! So ive had my iPhone for over a year now, but a month ago i updated it to 4.2.1 and had to install the itunes 10.1 and ever since i wasnt able to sync music from my library to iphone, nor apps !!!

my itunes connects to my iPhone

so i clic on the sync button

iTunes proceeds by 4 steps !!
-1st step "backing up" ( and loads)
-2nd step "syncing contacts" (and audio and all)
-3rd step "determining apps to sync"
BUT THEN SKIPS 4TH STEP WHICH IS ACTUALLY THE SYNCHRONIZING PART !!!!!!!!!!!!

pleaseeeeeeeeeee help me

i even tried deleting and re-installing itunes!!

Hi,

When your iPhone shows up on iTunes on the menu bar Select music, And tick the box to sync Music! Do the same with the rest of the tabs!

When you select your Device in iTunes, it opens up the "Summary" tab which shows your iPhone info. Two tabs over from "Summary" is "Apps". Under the "Apps" tab, the first checkbox is labeled "Sync Apps". Is this box checked?

yeah guys theyre all checked. i tried unchecking and then re-ticking them but still nothing changed !!!!
it starts to sync but always skips the last step ( the import step)

I'd try re-booting the phone, if that doesn't do it, then try a restore.
