I have just purchased an iPhone 4 through Orange in the UK. Great phone and connects to wifi at home superb. When I leave the house I noticed that it stopped receiving emails and could not browse the web etc...

I called Orange who said that I need to switch my wifi off every time I leave the house and then it will connect using 3G. I tried that and it does it ok, but surely thats not right. Should it not connect automatically?

Any ideas or help appreciated.

Yes I thought as much. I have been through the settings and they all seem fine. Any ideas what it could be? Its obviously something that alters / shifts between wifi and 3G.

I hate these little teething problems with new phones....

What happens when you leave the house with it on? Do you ever get 3G at the top of the phone?

I would try a simple backup and restore first and go from there.

Okay its all sorted now. Orange sent through a sim update and I also did a back up and restore. Thanks DaFlake
