Is there an "Ignore" on the iPhone?

When I received a call on my old cell phone(s), there was a button labeled "Ignore" that would immediately send the call to VoiceMail. My iPhone 4 doesn't have that. I don't want to miss someone's call, but I also don't want my phone to ring x number of times before it goes to VoiceMail. Is there a way I can configure the iPhone 4 similarly? Thanks in advance for your help.

I assume you're referring to when the phone is locked, because when it's not there is a clearly labeled ignore button.

When the call comes in, you can just hit one of the volume buttons and it'll stop ringing/vibrating. However, this does not send the call directly to voicemail and it will continue to "ring" until it does. To send it directly to voicemail, you need to hit the power button on top.

When my iPhone 4 is on and I receive a call, the only information displayed is the caller's name and/or number and "Slide to answer." If I slide the slider, it automatically answers the call; there is no way to ignore the call or stop the ringing.

Thank you, Kash. I'll now use the power button to send unwanted calls to VoiceMail.

Wow.. this topic again..

1... double tap home button.
2. hit ignore.
or 3. double tap sleep button.

All three will send busy tone.

I assume you're referring to when the phone is locked.

According to the manual;

1. Slide the slider to answer the call.
2. Hit the 'sleep' button to silence the call (but without rejecting the call), or:
3. Quickly hit the 'sleep' button TWICE, sending the call immediately to voicemail.
