3rd party camera apps = no thumbnails when importing

When ever I import a picture taken or edited by a 3rd party camera app there are no thumbnails shown. This occurs in iPhoto and image capture and can be quite annoying as I don't know what i'm importing or if i need to grab a photo from my iphone quickly i cant find it. The pictures appear fine in the camera roll on the iphone and all other software, on desktop mac and iphone is upto date. iphone is running software version 4.02 Any help would be greatly appreciated. **Edit** mods please move to IOS and APPS forum, posted in wrong section.
