I'm not talking about the new LED flash for pictures...I'm talking about flash applications running on web pages. Anyone know why they don't run flash on the iPhone?

I know Apple generally releases new products pretty frequently with minor upgrades because we fanboys will run out and buy anything with "Apple" on it! Do you think flash is just something they're holding out on for a later product?

As long as Steve Jobs is alive, I doubt we'll be seeing Flash on the iPhone.

A Google search will give you all the details.

Yeah...for some reason I'm like message boards better than google!

Now that I googled it I see that it's the potential apps that come from flash that Jobs doesn't like. Oh well.

Thanks!

Steve also thinks Flash is an older technology that is slowing being replaced by HTML 5, which the iPhone & iPad accept.

I don't know if your Google search turned this up. (I'd be surprised if it didn't.) On the off chance it didn't, here is the word on Flash for iPhone from the big man himself:

Thoughts on Flash by Steve Jobs
