I have an iphone 3GS, and I just bought a macbook pro. I don't have the 4.0 update yet and now I am wondering if I update/sync it with my new mac, will it delete all of my contacts, music, pictures ect?

welcome aboard... when i updated mine (also a 3G[S]) nothing was deleted, but to be safe i would recommend a backup before you update, better safe than sorry.
