Virgin mobile UK + Iphone 3gs

Hi I was wondering if anyone knew if a virgin mobile sim card would work in a unlocked iPhone 3gs? and has anyone tried and tested this?

It should work as Virgin Mobile uses GSM. But the only way to absolutely verify if it will work is to try it.

Well thats the problem really, because I'm on a virgin contract until january 2011 I wanted to get an iphone, but I don't fancy spending bout 300 on a phone I cannot use.

It would be good to hear definitely it can work or definitely it can't work.
