will Ipod 2nd gen LCD fit the new ipod 3 8gb

Anyone know if the 2nd generation ipod LCD will work on the new ipod 3rd gen 8gb.The digitizer and mid frame are the same just not sure about the LCD's.

I'm not sure, But iFixit.com can probably answer your question, They sell parts and have many tear down guides for fixing Apple products.

I also read that the back cover for the Ipod 2nd gen would work for the Ipod 3rd gen.Just wondering if anyone can verify that information before I get one.Thanks!!
