I'm looking for something that will hold my 2G iPhone while I'm driving. I'd prefer something that I can have access to the phone quickly if someone calls. Also, my car has no cup holders and the AC vents are circular and small so I doubt I could find something to fit them.

Have any of you tried something like this:

Sorry that I won't be much help answering your question but I think this looks very nice. Where did you find this contraption?

I just bought the new 3GS and that's an upgrade from the original. It's sooo much faster! I would recommend it highly.

Take a look at Bracketron, Pro Clip, or Kuda. All make high-quality electronics mounts.

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

Thanks for the suggestion, but the ones that would actually fit are in the neighborhood of $30 alone not to mention shipping. I'm looking to spend like $10.

Might as well quit looking online and start going out to visit your local flea markets. Maybe you can find some knock-off there in the $10 range.

I ended up buying the one in that picture from Ebay for $3 shipped. We'll see how it ends up working.

wow . . . Kuda thinks very highly of their stuff. $180 to mount an iPhone in a Land Rover Discovery.

Your pocket... with the phone turned off. At least while you're driving anyway.

D3v1L80Y - I have one of those cassette adapters and use my iPhone as an MP3 player in my car. This is the main reason I wanted a holder for it - so I can switch songs, etc without having to scramble around for it.

This thing works pretty well. It has a quick release button which comes in handy when someone is calling you.

Okay, but that's not what you said in your first post...
