I'm new to Mac as of 3 months ago and today I decided that I'm going to buy an iPhone 3GS 16Gig.

I was wondering what you opinion on the warranty was. Normally I don't buy warranties, but this phone could be pretty expensive to replace.

When I stopped in the AT&T store the other day just to look at it, the salesman was selling me on the warranty before I even said I would buy the phone.

So what's the general consensus?

I bought my unlocked 3G off of Ebay without the warranty. I've had it for about 6 months now and haven't had any issues with it. I'm fairly careful with my toys so physical damage is not an issue. The only thing I'd have to worry about is a internal failure of the phone and that hasn't happened..

Not sure how much the warranty costs, but if it's cheap enough, it might be a good layer of protection just in case..

Regards
