it seems that USA iPhone 3G is using 3G instead of 2G. In Asia / China / Hong Kong, most SIM card that is sold at Seven Eleven is for 2G.
In those area, if you get a tri-band 2G cell phone ( GSM 900/1800/1900 ), then you can use the phone in Asia and USA. so I wonder, if the iPhone 3G is jailbroken and unlocked, can it be used in Asia / China / Hong Kong? Last edited by winterheat; 07-26-2009 at 12:11 AM. |

Yes you should be able to use the iPhone if it is unlocked in Asia/China/Hong Kong.
The iPhone uses the following GSM frequencies: GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz) Member Of The Month for December '08. It's only the internet! |
