In the past I've jailbroken my 3g using pwntool. Since the 3.0 upgrade, I am wondering if anyone has been able to jailbreak the 3g and if so, what the experience with the new platform has been.
Many people have jailbroken their phones for apps like cycorder and mms, cut/paste. Is there still a strong demand for jailbreaking?
From what I've read, the 3.0 upgrade can be jailbroken on a 3G but not yet on the 3GS. It really doesn't seem necessary now though--Especially since you can tether without jailbraking.
If your in for customization such as themes and what not then go for it. Other than that I don't see it much necessary as before since we got cut copy and paste and other big features with the 3.0 firmware.
Yes, I don't doubt that you can jailbreak 3.0, my question is do you feel compelled to do it with all the added features? I believe that many have even tethered with 3.0...Why are you still Jailbreaking?
Mac Specs: 2.16GHz C2D MacBook w/ 2GB RAM & 120GB HD. HTC G1 on AT&T.

Custom themes, video recording on non 3GS phones, MMS messaging (since it is still not enabled by ATT), custom text notifications, free tethering, unrestricted apps
More? There's tons of reasons.

I use it mainly for the theme, the HUD, the notification icon, and there's this one app that lets me back up my SMS messages in a way that lets me view them on my computer. That's worth it alone.

Then there are those of us that refuse to use AT&T and MUST jailbreak in some shape/way/form in order to unlock their phones. My jailbroken 3GS is running on T-Mobile very well, thankyouverymuch. :-D

Cycorder (on 3G), Srobblr (for back ground last.fm scrobbling), Spot (unofficial spotify client), PPUploader (upload to youtube from cycorder), and not forgetting the numerical battery indicator (via Boss Prefs).

I too have a jailbroken 3G running 3.0, and I must say it's running great.
I have put this nav program on there called Navigon and it's beautiful, and free.
Live in a low populated area so I probably won't be bothered by too much hackers.
