iPhone Password won't let me recover

Alright, let me explain this before people start waving stolen flags.

I purchased this phone along with quite a few other iPhones from a friend at a cell phone repair store. I have the original box and accessories with the phone as well. The problem is that I turn the phone on and it tells me that before I can attempt the passkey that I have to wait over 4 million minutes!!! I read where I can bypass the lock by downloading a RAMDisk? for the iPhone and deleting certain files. I was wondering if there were a more noob friendly way of doing this? -Thanks, Kyle
