What if you could use the accelerometer to play games on your computer?

It would be really, really, really cool if apple made an application or something that allowed you to plug in the iphone (or wirelessly) and the computer would be allowed to get the data from the accelerometer.
For example, I have X-plane for the iphone, and I also have it for my mac, it would be really cool if you could use the iphone tilt controls to control the full version of x-plane.
Or for racing games, you can use the tilt to steer.
Is there any way to do that now?

after using something similar on the ps3 - sixaxis - trust me, it only works well with a few games where percision is less than mandatory. as a secondary control, it's not bad, but as the main method of movement, more often than not, it's rubbish. Please participate in our Member of the Month polls. Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!
