so got hold of a first gen iphone dirt cheap only problem with it , the guy before put a head set in the 3.5mm jack and broke it and now it wont act as a hand set and i cant get it out... any ideas?

no its just the end of a ear phone jack broken in to the ear phone jack hole.

Well it's necessary because I don't see a software solution. I don't think it's that hard though.

You'll probably need to take the iPhone apart and remove it from the port, unless you can get it out with a pair of tweezers or something.
