I may be getting an iPhone 3G soon...

However, I am an existing customer and am not eligible for an upgrade...
That's not my question though...

I was wondering: Does the Apple Store activate iPhone 3Gs for existing AT&T customers?
I remember hearing somewhere that the Apple Store only activates new iPhone 3Gs with new AT&T contracts...

Thanks!

well...

Today I took the plundge... I got an iPhone 3G

I am actually on vacation, but there was an apple store two blocks from my hotel so I went ahead and got one...

There was actually still a twenty min line which I was surprised about...

And for the question in my earlier post: the apple store does sell and activate iPhones for current AT&T customers...
