Will an iPod car charger also with an iPhone? Same connectors and voltage, etc?

I'm needing one in a hurry but the only thing available locally is for the iPod.

Great! Thanks a lot!

Now, will this decrease the battery's capacity over time like I've heard some people say?

It shouldn't. I've using a 4 year old iPod dock with my iPhone for 8 months now with no problems.

Alright well that's good enough for me.
Guess I'll be picking up the iPod charger this evening.
Thanks for the input.

This is dependent on charging frequency more than the charger itself. The batteries only go so many charges before they start losing their capacity. This is true of any charger, really. I keep my iphone on a charged dock at work and on a charger while in the car, and realize this may shorten it's battery life over time since I'm not draining it and fully charging it, but instead doing a higher frequency of shorter charges.

That being said, the car charger works just fine other than the nag message I get upon connection.
