i pad will not connect to internet

My apple i pad will not connect to the internet.
I have not lost my connection as my i Mac is working all right. Have switched off and turned on again. No response. Help

Which iPad do you have and what version of iOS is it running? Also, tell us what you have tried? For example, have you tried to connect to the net from someplace like Starbucks?
