I gave my 1st Gen iPad to a neighbors daughter after doing a revert and then updating to the most current iOS version 5.1.1 for this gen iPad. How or where can she get a Netflix app suitable for this iPad? Current app requires iOS 6 or later.

She can't. What's on the App Store is what's available. She can try using Safari instead and go directly through Netflix's website.

Restore it from the backup - if you made one prior to the restore - and you had Netflix on it.

Then remove your Apple ID from the device and any other log ins you may have had on it.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.

Thanks for verifying what I believed. What you suggested is what she is doing.

For what it's worth. The most current Netflix app for the iPad is version 6.0. I have an iPad 1…and the Netflix app version I have is version 4.3.1.

So the "trick"/solution here is…finding an older version of the Netflix app compatible with an iPad 1 (iOS 5).
