Help me on an Ipad 3 purchase. This a good deal?
I found a factory sealed Ipad 3 on craigslist. Gentlemen ive spoken with says he will meet with me and I can call apple to verify that its legit, check serial # , etc. Here are the specs:

    Product Features

    Size: 32GB | Item Shape: Wi-Fi | Color: White

    9.7 Retina Display; 2048 x 1536 Resolution
    Apple iOS 5; Dual-Core A5X Chip with Quad-Core Graphics
5 Megapixel iSight Camera; 1080p Video Recording
    Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n); 32 GB Capacity
Up to 10 Hours of Battery Life; 1.44 lbs

He is wanting $450, but i think he would take $425.

Would this be an ok deal, or should i try and wait for the ipad 3 refurb online for 379 when they come back in stock.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Specs:
    2011 13" MBP 2.3ghz, 8gig ram, OS 10.8.5
If price is an important concern…what's better…$450/$425…or $379 + tax??

Remember (with the Apple refurb.)...you will get a full 12 months of Applecare. Just because this seller has a "factory sealed" iPad 3…this doesn't mean (unless you double-check)…that it was purchased recently (thus it may not have a full 12 months of Applecare remaining).

Also…there are a lot of scams out there…with folks selling "factory-sealed" iPads. Then the buyer gets home…opens the "factory-sealed" box to find a brick!!!

    Be careful!

Met the guy and bought the Ipad 4 with Retina Display...32GB/Black for $450. Met with him and we talked for a while. He was really nice. He had no problem at all me calling Apple to verify the Serial #. I spoke to the Apple advisor and he said ipad was legit, and it was the exact model with the exact specs he said.

He even booted it up as I was on hold with Apple. We went through a few setup options and it was pretty obvious it wasnt a fake or anything. Heck, we talked about 20 minutes on ipads, selling stuff online and how amazon is going to start charging taxes, ..yada...yada...yada.....Very cool guy. He said he had a supplier in california for the ipads, so I am assuming he must have a friend or whatever that works for Apple. He sells a lot of them.

Went home and spent about 4 hours on the ipad. Talk about sweet! Wow! I Love it.

The new iPad at 32GB is selling for $599 at Apple, so you got a killer deal for yours. I think I got my iPad 2 16GB for that price..

I did. But after speaking with him he said he had the new retina version(4) and for the same price. So I decided on that one.

    Specs:
    Mid-2012 MBP (16GB, 1TB HD), Monoprice 24-inch second monitor, iPhone 5s 32GB, iPad Air 2 64GB
The iPad 3 is also a Retina iPad. But either way I think you got a deal there, so enjoy.
