My wife wants an Ipad for Christmas. Can I connect an Ipad to read and write files via WiFi from my LG NAS unit in the same way as my Imac?

Many apps support pulling files from a network source onto the iPad. File Browser for instance.
Not been around these parts for a while. Trying to change that . .

Haven't used file browser - seems like a pretty good deal.

I bought cloud connect pro on sale at one point - expensive but pretty much gives you file browsing as well as remote control (vnc and rdc - many vnc packages are $10 by themselves)

I also like good player for streaming media from network shares.

Depnds on what type of files you are trying to read/write. I've found that streaming and in line editing is probably the best way to go - as it keeps the files on the servers.

For example for text editing I like textastic code editor - as I can edit remote files on servers

Well it looks like Filebrowser is the one. Although I havent tried it on an Ipad, it works really well on an Ipod. Thanks for all your help.
