Ios 4 or 5 on iPad 1

What are the pro's and cons of upgrading ios to 4 or 5. I've read that on some it really slows down. Any input would help. Thanks.

you should put ios 5 on it. I have it on my old ipad 1 and it is pretty snappy and fast. you will like ios 5 if you want to use the device while syncing, icloud backup, better tabbed safari browsing and more you can read about it here :Apple - iOS 5 - See new features included in iOS 5.

Works fine on mine so far everything seems to be better and I have 1st gen.
