I would say you don't NEED an iPad 3. Your pro does everything an iPad 3 can do.

I have both. Except my iPad is the #2 version. I use both quite frequently.

You don't really provide us with much information to go off of. Yes, a Macbook can do everything an iPad 3 can, but the iPad is used differently than the Macbook. I don't have a Macbook Pro, but if I did, I would still be able to find sufficient use of an iPad.

I have an iMac , MB, MBP, and an iPad now. I don't use the others do much anymore. Only for work related stuff. I use my iPad for netflix, websurfing and light emailing.

iPad gets the most use out of all my Macs. ^-^"

I also have a Windows Computer that was built for gaming. Plus the other standard gaming consoles N3DS, Wii, Ps3 but they aren't getting ad much play time because of school, work and life.
