Apple has been known to be in the higher end pricing when it comes to tech, but what would people think, since the announcement of the Kindle Fire, if Apple came out an annouced a iPad Nano, which would also be a 7 or 8 inch screen for around $299?

Would you buy one?

For me no as I really appreciate the larger screen on my iPad. But if Size were a concern, yes for sure.

Mmm, thinking about it, if they go a step lower it turns into a iPod Touch.

For my aging eyes, the touch is a bit too small. I have messed with a 7" tablet and I could easily read everything.

Not sure what Apple will do, but a 7" might be better for some who feel the iPad is just too large and the iPod Touch too small.

I've checked out a few 7in tablets recently and it definitely seems appealing for certain uses. But I never did mind the size of the iPads.

I agree. The iPad is just the right size for me. Anything smaller is like you said, might as well get an iPhone instead.
