Ipad 2 screen cracked

I bought my ipad 2 a few months ago and it has been a good product. I came home this evening and went to pick my ipad up and the screen was cracked in the top right corner. It was not like this when i left this morning and i do not know how this happend. how much is it to have apple replace this?

Try taking it to an Apple store and explain what happened. Chances are good that they will just replace it.

I called and they asked me to send pictures of it. It is 300 if they don't. I could do it myself for 80.

i just got a return call from apple and they are sending me a box to ship it in and get replaced for free. I love apple

Note that scamming Squaretrade is insurance fraud, and it is illegal. We don't discuss illegal activities on this forum.

Fascinating, captain. So if you think not telling SquareTrade you have a damaged iPad before buying the policy and then making a claim *isn't* insurance fraud, I wonder what you think *would* be?

(rhetorical question, no need for an answer)

Anyway, I am in fact sorry to hear (and see) what happened to the unit, and I'm delighted that Apple will replace it for you.

You have to buy the squaretrade warranty in the first 30 days. I wouldn't even be able to get one.

There was obvious impact/stress to that area...That did not happen by strange phenomenon.

The first crack on the side was there when i picked it up. I thought it was a dog hair so i tried to wipe it off and it cracked the rest of the way. Apple asked me if the ipad seemed squishy for some reason and it is so i don't know what that means.
