    Can the iPad be interfaced to audio hardware such as mixers, etc? Send out the tracks on Garageband to mixer line level for playback?

    You can use the iPad camera connection kit to hook up a bunch of audio gear to the iPad - the only problem is that they can't draw too much power.

    You can get around that limitation by connecting a powered USB hub to the USB port on the connection kit and then connecting a USB powered mic / adapter / whatever to that. In practise, it's a bit fiddly though…

    Or you can wait for something like this:
