I know that the iPad requires more power to charge, so I'd like to know if there is a higher capacity car charger that we can use on the road. TIA

Worth a quick Google that one . . .

But yes both Griffin and Kensington (amongst others) make iPad specific chargers for 12v in-car use.

External hard disk acquisition addict - but admitting the problem is the first step to a robust backup

Incase makes a dual charger for iPhone/iPad. It is a car and wall charger.

My wife and I both have the Incase combo charger. Works great. I also bought my mom one for christmas for her iPad.

I just ordered a Grantwood car charger/fm tuner for my iPhone 4 from amazon.com. Turns out, it is also compatible with the iPad.
