I need some good, useful apps on my ipad. For example, if i need to get apps for "things to do," what app would that be? Just need some office/school-ish apps.

There's a whole section of office and school apps on the App Store, you might want to start there and look at the top-rated ones (hint: "Categories").

As for to-do lists, try a search on GTD (getting things done) and see what's top-rated. I don't use to-do lists so I'm no expert, but "Things" seems to get a lot of praise.

The DOcs To GO is great, and works great with Google docs.
