wireless upload network share ipad

Not sure if this can be done, but i have a friend who runs a dentist office and he would like to be able to take a picture from his camera and wireless upload it to the ipad so that a patient can look at the pictures. Is this possible? He has found that he can get a wireless sd card for his camera that will upload files to a network share but not sure how the ipad would work with it. Any suggestions or help would be great.
