What application do you recommend for creating your own app for iPhone, iPad, and/or iPod? Is there a simple software like iMovie, iWeb, etc. that can walk you through the process?

No, if by your question you're really asking "is there a way for someone with zero programming understanding to build an iPhone app?" There are a few services out there that can simplify the process of creating an iPhone app (have a look at this or this for examples) somewhat -- for a (usually hefty) fee, but basically there aren't many shortcuts: for anything beyond a basic app, you'll need to use XCode, join the iOS developer program and learn how to program like everyone else. Experience in Javascript, CSS and C help *a lot.*

Be aware that there are MANY scammy "build an iPhone app" offers out there, precisely BECAUSE it's hard to actually build a good iOS app. The bigger the shortcut promise, the more likely it is a scam to separate you from a lot of your money.
