I have used facetime for years and it has always worked and starting with iOS 6 it has worked over 3G. However as of late it has not been working over 3G and I am not sure why. I have contacted Sprint and they are clueless and I have reset my phone, powered it off and then on, turned FT off and on, and done eveyrthing and it refuses to work. However it works like a charm over WIFI. Is anyone else also experiening this issue?

Thanks,

John

Ok. I'm on 7.0.6 and can confirm that at least on AT&T, it's not some bug in this version. So let's review your settings to be sure you have FaceTime enabled for use on cellular. Open Settings, then Cellular. Scroll down to FaceTime and make sure that is toggled on.

Next, go back to the main page in Settings and scroll down to FaceTime. Make sure it is toggled on.

All is on. This is not a simple problem.

Hmmmm. I'm having trouble seeing this as anything but a problem on Sprint's end. Try doing a hard reset. Hold down the home button and keep it held down; then press the lock button up top and keep both held down until it reboots and you see the Apple logo appear.

If that doesn't clear this up, then the only thing left to try is doing a full backup of your iPhone in iTunes, then restore it. That can clean out any buggy behavior, though I am very skeptical that this will work. Do you know when this first started? Was it after an update?

You should read over Sprint's forums. A lot of other users have this same problem with various models of the iPhone.

Thanks. Yes I tried that and it did not work. I am not sure when it started. I had to do a factory default reset a week or two ago due to my iPhone having some corrupted data that the phone kept when iTunes crashed over the years. After I did the factory default reset and loaded all my apps and such MANUALLY I got back more than 4GB's of space. Anyways that is another story.

I called Sprint 3 times and each time they say its an Apple issue, but over the years Sprint has always denied responsibility and are incredibly ignorant. I remember more than 2 years ago when I owned a BlackBerry Curve and I had a major bug where my Visual Voicemail would crash and I had to reboot the phone. Each time they denied it and they even directed me a BB tech support rep whom told me it was a Sprint problem. FINALLY after a few months Sprint released a patch that fixed the problem, but this after months of denial and blaming others.

FaceTime over 3G used to work when I was in Greenville, SC up to April 2013. I have not really used it as much since moving to Colorado, but the other day ago I needed it, so its possible the problem may have occurred since April of last year but I did not notice.
