I want to put a group calendar on icloud.

If this is not possible, then why not? Both technical reasons and apple's (possible) reasoning.

I really want to be able to check or uncheck 1 box and show or hide all 10 calendars.

Calendars must be viewable to others not just me.

iCloud: Share a calendar with others

never done it
never wanted to
found the above as the first hit with a google search of "share icloud calendar"
whether that will work for you or not - dunno
if apple has a kb article, there are probably tutorials out there also
not all software works they way "we" the end users want
sometimes, you gotta work with the way the software works or find a different software or for the coders out there, write your own

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.
In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus.
