Did you buy the Apple Care + accidental coverage for your iPhone 5C? If you didn't, I'll bet you wish you did. You have no choice but to take it to Apple and let them swap it for another at your cost. I have no idea how much they'll charge. Hopefully, your MacBook suffered no damage when it fell along with the iPhone.

Of course I didn't do a silly thing like get apple care +, considering my history of walking around with an iphone 4 with lovely crackage across it. Needless to say, I feel like a ******* right about now. I really must be the 1st person to unintentionally shatter a phone I've had for less than a week. gah...guess I will try my luck with apple repair.

Well, don't beat yourself up over it. We'll keep our fingers crossed for you that the folks at the Apple store will be merciful and swap it out for you, no questions asked. Let us know.

Did the Macbook get hurt? Just curious. Who knows apple might feel bad for you. I hope so. Be careful in the future! Not sure how the accident happened.

Did you buy it with a credit card? Certainly in the UK most credit card purchases over 100 get 100 day insurance.
